International mail items using the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) scheme addressed to certain EU Member Countries (*) may be returned at the discretion of the destination country's customs authorities and postal operators.
　Accordingly, Japan Post is unable to accept such mail items from July 24, 2026, until further notice.
　(We will announce the resumption date as soon as it is confirmed.)
　Please note that since July 1, 2026, there have been a number of cases where mail items arriving in the EU have been returned.
　Please also be advised that postage fees will not be refunded for delays or returns resulting from these circumstances.

　For mail items destined for the United States, advance payment of duties is required for items valued at US$2,500 or less, except for documents and gifts exchanged between individuals valued at US$100 or less.
　Labels for such items cannot be created through the International Mail My-page Service. For eligible items, please use the designated application to complete the advance payment of duties and create shipping labels.

　Please note that the International Mail My-page Service remains available for the following items:
　・Documents
　・Gifts exchanged between individuals valued at US$100 or less
　・Mail items with contents valued at more than US$2,500

　Effective Monday, June 1, 2026, due to amendments to the “Regulations of the Universal Postal Convention,” some functions of the International Mail My-page Service will be updated.

If the outer packaging of an international postal item displays any “dangerous goods labels” or “marks,” the item cannot be accepted for international mail (airmail or surface mail), even if the contents themselves are not classified as dangerous goods.
This is because it is not possible to determine from the exterior whether dangerous goods are included.
If such labels or marks are present on the outer packaging, please ensure that they are completely removed or obscured before sending the item.
